Blackhead Lighthouse
Belfast Lough stretches from the mouth of the River Lagan in Belfast and it bounded by Orlock Point to the south and by Blackhead Lighthouse to the north. More correctly known as Blackhead Antrim Lighthouse, the tower was completed in 1902 and was originally painted red and stayed this way until 1929 when it was painted in its current white. It is, somewhat confusingly, just next to the town of Whitehead … go figure!
